Steve Martin had to make repeated apologies for a careless tweet he made on Friday night. In spite of the fact that the tweet was deleted by him moments later, it went viral and Martin was left red-faced, literally. He quickly tweeted an “I am sorry” at first when one of his followers pointed out the racist nature of his tweet. But then, some more followers asked him to not keep quiet as they have all seen what he had posted earlier! So, he had to apologize again.
Steve martin, who is always seen in a pair of reading glasses probably never thought about the repercussions of the tweet while he was posting it. This comes hot in the heels of another incident, where a PR executive was fired because of a very offensive tweet she posted just before leaving the country for Africa.
The incident happened while Steve Martin was answering questions from his followers. The racist joke was his reply to a follower who asked him a spelling of a certain word. Now Mr. Martin will hopefully be careful about his future tweets. He should never take off his reading glasses for men while posting so that he can see what he is writing!
